Eligibility
2022 6th Golden Peony International Music Competition is an International Music Competition and open to all school students and adult solo performers, ensembles, and small orchestras of all nationalities and countries from January 1st, 2022. All instruments, including Piano, Strings, Harp, Voice and Chinese Instruments are welcome to participate in the competition. Participants are required to submit video recording as a part of their application materials, Multiple winners will be chosen in each group.
CATEGORIES
Piano, Piano Ensemble
Duet (two different instruments), chamber ensemble, orchestra, choir
Wind instruments (soloists, duets, ensembles): flute, bassoon, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, tuba, French horn & percussion instruments
Stringed instruments (soloists, duets, ensembles): double bass, cello, viola, violin
Stringed and plucked instruments (soloists, duets, ensembles): guitar, harp, national instruments
Vocals (soloists, duets, ensembles): classical, musical theater, folk, pop, jazz
AGE GROUPS
Group A：
5-10 years old,
Group B：
11-15 years old,
Group C：
16 -22 years old,
Group D：
22 and above
REPERTOIRE Rules
* Each piece is required to be performed in its entirety (No repeat)
* No limit to music length.
* Memorization is required. (Except Classical Chamber music and Piano Duet)
* Accompaniment is highly recommended for all instruments.
* Music CANNOT be edited or cut.
Video Upload Requirement
• The Video must be recorded after April 1, 2021
• Video clips must be recorded from one, single camera angle and must have good lighting/visibility of the performer. Editing is not permitted.
• No announcement at the beginning of the video
• Dress Code: formal attire
• The uploaded files must be set up to UNLISTED on YouTube.com or YouKu.com.
unless it’s Chinese music or without a published edition.
• All fees are non-refundable
• The All video links must be provided in the Registration Form.
Once the Application is submitted and the deadline is due, the music selections/titles cannot be changed.
YouTube/Youku videos must be Marked/labeled/named clearly with the STUDENT NAME/GROUP NAME and the title and composer of your piece. You will not be disqualified if this is not absolutely correctly labeled

GENERAL INFORMATION
* All competitions are through online submission. There is no in-person stage audition or performance.
* Judges comments will not be disclosed. Judges’ decisions are final and can’t be appealed.
* Competitors compete for Grand Prize, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize placement as well as other awards per age category. All competitors get emailed pdf-certificates, and pay with $30 fees to mail if anyone is not able to pick up in the office.
* The prizes are : Grand Prize , 1st Prize , 2nd Prize , 3rd Prize , Honorable Mention, Merit.
* Result will be noticed before April 1 2022
* The competition is open to all ages (5 year-old above), students, amateur and professional musicians, composers, music students including informal, self-taught musicians.
All performers are required to perform in suitable recital style or concert attire. Costumes, traditional attire and uniforms are acceptable in the appropriate entry categories.
Our competition respects the rights and privacy of all and does not discriminate based on ethnicity, race, nationality, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
* By participating in the competition, competitors automatically waive the right to any remuneration regarding eventual publication and distribution of music video recordings on CD, DVD, or any type of online publication of the media.
* Teachers of winners may receive certificates of recognition upon request.
Shipping Fee
Winners will need to pick up their certificates at a designated location/dates. For mailing services, a handling & shipping fee will be charged: $30 domestic in the US and $80 international.
About Judging
The decision of the jury is final and cannot be appealed. Multiple awards may be given in each age category. Any candidate who does not comply with the competition’s regulations, or providing false or incorrect information will be disqualified.
